Covid-19 has notably disrupted the way in which medical practices throughout New Zealand operate.   Over the past 12 months, we’ve felt your frustration and heard your concerns particularly around the lack of routine doctor appointments and as a result have decided to make the following changes.

We will be offering more routine Doctor appointments commencing Monday 3 May.  These appointments are now available for you to book online through Manage My Health or over the phone.

To allow for those additional routine Doctor appointments we have had to make changes to our “Drop in Clinic”.

From the 3 May 2021 we will be running an “Urgent Care Clinic” each morning Mon through to Fri at both Central Health and Fairy Springs Medical Centre.  This is for our enrolled patients who are acutely unwell or have had an accident/injury which requires attention the same day.  This clinic is not for long standing health issues, repeat medications, ACC and WINZ medical certificates.

There will be no “Urgent Care Clinic” in the afternoon.

To access the “Urgent Care Clinic” you are asked to telephone the clinic on 347 0000 between 8.30am and 11.00am and be available to attend the clinic that morning if directed.

Once you are through to the clinic our reception staff will ask you some basic health screening questions so that they can determine one of two options:

  1. Whether you are to stay at home and be added to the Duty Doctor call list. The Duty Doctor will then phone you to assess your symptoms.

or

  1. Whether you can come in to the clinic.

These changes will take effect from Monday 3 May and we will continue to monitor.
