Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP)

A free service to support long-term health conditions, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, sleep issues, or motivation. Same-day appointments available.

Belinda McEwen is our Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP).
Her role is to help people make practical, positive changes that support better health and wellbeing. Belinda works with individuals of all ages, life stages, and health conditions, offering support that is tailored, realistic, and easy to put into action.

She can help with:
• Setting personal goals
• Managing long-term health conditions
• Addictions
• Improving sleep
• Managing stress and anxiety
• Coping with grief or loss
• Building community connections
• Mental health and emotional wellbeing
• Exercise and activity planning
• Cultural connections

Belinda has called Rotorua home for 28 years and loves the people and places that make it special. She is a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience at QE Health, NASC, and in community-based ACC services.

Belinda enjoys working alongside people of all ages, helping them take practical steps toward improving their health and wellbeing. She values the HIP role for its focus on accessible, person-centred care—supported by the dedicated team at Central Health and Fairy Springs.

Appointments:
Patients enrolled with Rotorua Medical Group (Central Health or Fairy Springs) can self-refer to see Belinda.
This is a free service for enrolled patients.
Belinda is based at Central Health, Monday to Friday.
